Finally, we have a bit more information on Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls — the PS5 brawler that’s being published by Sony.
Funnily enough, this new info comes from the game’s Steam page, which has only just been updated (as spotted by Wario64). We would assume that this stuff is being revealed in conjunction with Marvel Tokon putting in an appearance at the upcoming State of Play.
Anyway, the headline here is that the game will feature 20 playable characters at launch. It’s a slightly bigger total than some may have been expecting, given that we’ve only seen eight of those characters up until now (Captain America, Doctor Doom, Ghost Rider, Iron Man, Ms. Marvel, Spider-Man, Star-Lord, and Storm).
Still, this is a four-on-four fighter, and so questions will be asked if 20 combatants is enough to keep things feeling fresh — at least, until the DLC plans kick into gear.
There’s no mention of who these 12 other characters are right now, but again, we wouldn’t be at all surprised to see a few reveals at this week’s State of Play.
On top of that, the Steam listing mentions a single player ‘Episode Mode’, which promises to ease players into the game’s mechanics, and “learn more about the lore”.
