LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Lincoln Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help with two recent cases.
The first case happened on Jan. 28 between 3 and 6 a.m. at a car lot in the area of 37th Street and Cornhusker Highway. Lincoln Police say someone stole four tires and rims from a truck at the lot overnight.
LPD says the suspect loosened all the lug nuts, jacked up the truck and took the tires and rims. Officers say they had difficulty getting the back passenger side tire off and used their own truck to forcibly remove the last tire, causing significant damage to the truck.
The rims and tires are valued at $3,600. They say “Red Dirt Road” on the outer edge of the rim, and the initials R.D.R. are on the center cap of the rim. They also have silver colored round accents around the edge of the rim.

Officers say those cameras also captured what witnesses believe to be the driver circling back around to check out the damage and walking around outside the vehicle.
Police describe the suspect as an older white male wearing a blue tank top with a tattoo on his left bicep. He was driving a smaller, dark SUV, police say.
LPD says this man is believed to be connected to a hit and run crash in a Lincoln neighborhood.(Lincoln Crime Stoppers)
