Brett Favre explained why he would not be watching Bad Bunny

Brett Favre’s Super Bowl tweet on Bad Bunny’s half-time performance went viral for all the wrong reasons and fans were quick to let him have it, with some suggesting that ‘he’s the problem with the United States’.

The Green Bay Packers and NFL legend declared he wouldn’t watch Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny, real name Benito Ocasio, take to the stage because he is ‘not familiar with him’ and ‘didn’t know if his music is good or bad’. While many pointed out that’s exactly the reason to watch the performance, he instead stated he’d follow in watching Charlie Kirk’s platform Turning Point USA’s show – where Kid Rock performed.

Bad Bunny being chosen had been seen as controversial due to his songs being in Spanish, while his recent strong words against ICE at the Grammys had drawn attention. It comes as Kid Rock is slammed as ‘white trash royalty’ for his controversial Jay-Z comments.

But the Puerto Rican singer was widely praised for his performance, with one ESPN reporter becoming emotional after watching. In protest to Bad Bunny being selected, Turning Point USA, founded by Charlie Kirk, held it’s own show.

Prior to the game on Sunday, Favre tweeted: “Not familiar with Bad Bunny so don’t know if his music is good or bad. I’m just going to watch what I know Lee Brice, Kid Rock All-American Halftime Show.”

The Pro Football Hall of Famer then saw his mentions littered with fans questioning his logic.

One had written: “Exactly the problem with this country. Why is it so hard for some Americans to step outside their bubble and learn about other cultures? Different music, different traditions, different perspectives, that’s the point.

“You don’t have to love it, but you could at least try to understand it. Instead, too many people cling to what they know because they don’t care to learn anything else. That’s how you end up loud, confident, and culturally illiterate.”

Another tweeted: “Ignorance is not bliss. Educate yourself. I promise it won’t hurt”.

A third had harshly wrote: “Brett, you’re the most overrated player in NFL history. You relate so well to Kid Rock, because you both are irrelevant and fans can name better talents than you in either field.”

Allegedly 3.5 million people watched Turning Point USA’s show, with a reported 135.4 million seeing Bad Bunny’s performance at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara. However, those numbers are yet to be confirmed.

One of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history, Favre recently opened up on his battles with Parkinson’s disease – hoping to find a cure.

It comes as a Super Bowl LX star facing costly financial punishment over post-game behavior.
