Timothy Timmons has been sentenced after he was found guilty of shooting and killing a man at his ex-wife’s home in December 2024.

On Wednesday, a judge sentenced Timmons to serve 25 years to life in prison.

Timmons did not speak following the sentencing.

Timmons was found guilty of a single count of second-degree murder following a 12-day jury trial that included 10 days of testimony last fall. Timmons shot and killed Jahfari Joseph, of Plattsburgh, following a dispute at his ex-wife Kelly Timmon’s home.

After killing Joseph, Timmons worked with another man, Chad Nichols, to hide the body in Franklin County, New York.

Timmons is the last person involved in the case to be sentenced. Previously, Kelly Timmons was sentenced to three years in prison after she pleaded guilty to attempted criminal sale of a firearm.

Nichols was sentenced to serve up to six years in prison after he pleaded guilty to helping to hide Joseph’s body following the murder.

A fourth man, Daryl Perkins, 48, of Plattsburgh was sentenced earlier this month to 7.5 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to weapons and drug possession charges. Perkins was found to be in possession of the handgun used to kill Joseph.
