Senior point guard Olivia Miles has lived up to expectations in her first (and only) year at TCU. The 23-year-old transfer from Notre Dame poured in a career-high 40 points for the No. 17 Horned Frogs as they upset Big 12 rivals No. 17 Baylor on Thursday, 83-67.
Miles caused quite a stir when she transferred, spurning a chance at becoming a top-five pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft for one more season of college basketball. She’ll once again enter the 2026 draft with a chance to go early.
Miles’s 40 points came on 10 three-pointers, also a career best. She had 33 points before the fourth quarter even started against a Baylor team rated as one of the nation’s best defenses.

When asked where this performance ranks in her career catalogue, Miles admitted that “It’s definitely top three, for sure” (per the Fort Worth Star-Telegram).
“If you had told me I would score 40 in a game last year, I would’ve laughed at you. I didn’t have that confidence, I didn’t have that self-belief. What a special win for our team.”

Miles entered the day averaging 19.7 points a game on 51% shooting to go along with 6.8 rebounds and 6.7 assists. Last week, she captured her third Big 12 Player of the Week Award. She was named to both the Wooden Award 20-player watch list and was in the top 10 for the Nancy Liberman Award (best point guard in the country).
At Notre Dame, Miles was a two-time Second-team All-American and a three-time First-team All-ACC pick as part of the dominant regular season Fighting Irish team that couldn’t get over the hump in the postseason.

Last season, TCU reached the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2010. Led by Hailey Van Lith, the Horned Frogs reached the Sweet 16 for the first time in program history.
Head coach Mark Campbell returned a team that lost many key players. Still, he was plenty proud of his TCU side on Thursday as they improved to a 22-4 record (10-3 in conference play).

“It was an awesome Big 12 game,” he explained after the contest. “Great environment, great crowd. It was two elite basketball teams going to battle in February, where these games meant a lot. I couldn’t be more proud of my team and the performance they gave.”
“We’ve been growing as a team and trying to put together 40 minutes,” Campbell added. “We’ve been so dang close for a long time. We lost a couple really close games, but as a group we’ve been saying we’re just 1% away from winning every one of these games. Credit to the team for working and showing up and grinding. It paid off today.”
