Coronation Street spoilers follow from Friday’s episode (13 February), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn’t yet aired on ITV1.
Coronation Street airs a shock arrest for Daniel Osbourne’s secret attacker tonight – as Will Driscoll’s crime finally comes back to haunt him. But is there enough evidence to bring charges against the troubled teen?
The latest Weatherfield drama plays out after Daniel takes part in a restorative justice programme, meeting up with the homeless man who was jailed for his brutal Christmas Day assault. As soon as Daniel chats to the guy, named Colin, it’s clear that he wasn’t really responsible and the police have made a big mistake.
Daniel notes that Colin has a mobility issue, which doesn’t match with his memory of someone running away from the scene.
Crumbling under the pressure of Daniel’s detective work, Colin hints that he was desperately looking for a warm bed – even one in prison – when he confessed to the attack. Daniel is flabbergasted, now back at square one in the mysterious case.

Later, back at The Rovers, Daniel overhears Eva Price rebuking Will for his terrible temper following another Driscoll family row.
The truth suddenly dawns on Daniel as he remembers that Will wasn’t happy with him on Christmas Day. He also recalls a clue to Will’s presence at the scene of the crime, so it’s not looking good for the guilty schoolboy…
Will denies everything when confronted in the back room of the pub, but Daniel isn’t convinced. As Kit Green arrives to arrest Will under suspicion of assault, is it game over? And if so, what would this all mean for Will’s secret co-conspirator Maggie?

Daniel was left unconscious in the ginnel on Christmas Day and was only found the next morning when Evelyn Plummer stumbled across him.
Viewers discovered Will’s guilt when Maggie confronted him for being responsible. But Maggie was also hiding a dark secret of her own – she’d planted some of Daniel’s belongings on Colin to frame him.
Will’s violent move formed part of the bigger story about Megan Walsh grooming the vulnerable teen. He acted out of jealousy after witnessing Daniel’s relationship with Megan develop – so is there a chance that Megan’s secrets may now be exposed too?
Coronation Street has worked on Will and Megan’s grooming storyline with support from Barnardo’s. Support and information is available via the charity’s website.
Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
