On Saturday, Feb. 14, officers performed a wellness check at the Columbiana Villas before multiple shots were fired and an officer was hit.
An ambulance has arrived on the scene, followed by SCSO deputies and a tactical response unit vehicle.
The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office has released a traffic advisory for the area of Highway 25 near County Road 47, confirming it is shut down. Residents are asked to avoid the area.
