LOS ANGELES (KABC) — Enjoy a sunny weekend before a powerful storm system moves into Southern California on Monday.
The heavy rain is expected to move into the region by about 4 or 5 a.m. on Monday, just in time for a messy and possibly dangerous morning commute.
The storm is expected to produce heavy rain, flooding, mountain snow and possible thunderstorms, with most areas estimated to receive 1 to 3 inches of rain and some pockets seeing higher amounts. The storm is projected to be one of the strongest and coldest of the season.
The rain will stick around all day on Monday and into Monday night.
While some areas might dry out by Tuesday morning, don’t get used to it. Another round of storms moves in on Tuesday evening and sticks around overnight and into Wednesday.
By Thursday, things will finally start to dry out, with sunshine returning by Friday.
