It will be another busy day at the WTA Dubai Tennis Championships with 14 matches on the slate in the desert. As always, we here at LWOT will be offering our predictions for every match on the slate, including Amanda Anisimova vs Barbora Krejcikova. But who will come out on top?

WTA Dubai Day 2 Predictions
Laura Siegemund vs Daria Kasatkina

Head-to-head: Kasatkina 4-1 Siegemund

This could be among the longest matches of 2026. Both women extend the rallies in each match they play, and can effectively change the pace. Laura Siegemund relies more heavily on variation and will try to throw Daria Kasatkina off her rhythm at every opportunity. Despite her mostly poor form in the past 12 months, Kasatkina is favored to win this. Patience and a high tennis IQ are important for beating Siegemund, and the former world #8 possesses both. She’s shown that by winning four of her five meetings with the German.

Prediction: Kasatkina in 3

Anastasia Zakharova vs Moyuka Uchijima

Head-to-head: Uchijima 3-0 Zakharova

This pair’s last meeting was in the qualifying round at last year’s tournament in Dubai. Moyuka Uchijima narrowly prevailed, but it was the closest that Zakharova, in the main draw this year as a lucky loser, has come to beating her Japanese opponent. Expect this to be close based on that match last year, and for Uchijima to have to soak up much pressure. But overall, Uchijima looks like the narrow favourite to triumph for a fourth time because of her greater solidity and a good record in this match-up.

Prediction: Uchijima in 3

Sofia Kenin vs Clara Tauson

Head-to-head: Kenin 2-1 Tauson

The last two matches between Sofia Kenin and Clara Tauson were decided in a final-set tiebreak, with each player winning once. Although the head-to-head record offers encouragement, Kenin has lost all five of her singles matches this season. The former Australian Open winner is prone to prolonged runs of defeats and undoubtedly hopes to end the current run as soon as possible. An opponent of Tauson’s quality is probably not the right opponent to get that elusive victory. Expect the Dane’s power to be too much for Kenin in her current form.

Prediction: Tauson in 2
