One in hospital after overnight cutting in Omaha
One person is injured after an overnight cutting in Omaha.
Omaha police officers were called to the incident near 79th Street and Newport Avenue shortly before 12:30 a.m. Monday.
Officers told First Alert 6 on the scene that they also went to a home several blocks away for a related call. There is no word on any suspects yet.
Human remains identified as missing Stromsburg couple
The human remains found in Saunders County have been confirmed to be those of a Stromsburg couple who disappeared in early January.
Police said investigators found the remains of 26-year-old Hannah Neville, who was 32 weeks pregnant, and her 27-year-old husband Roberto Tanner on Feb. 5. Fetal remains were also recovered during the search.

Tanner’s half-brother, 24-year-old Sterling James is accused in the couple’s murder. His wife, Sayde Titus, 22, is accused of aiding and abetting first-degree murder.
Police made four additional arrests in the homicide investigation on charges of being accessories to murder and tampering with evidence.
Five displaced as result of fire in South Omaha home, OFD says
Five people were displaced as a result of a fire in an South Omaha home Sunday afternoon.
Omaha Fire Department crews responded to the scene near 49th and Harrison streets around 1:45 p.m. Sunday.
A cluttered environment hampered firefighting efforts and contributed to the extent of the damage. The fire damaged the first floor and the attic of the home, making the first floor unlivable.
The cause of the fire, which caused damage estimated at more than $120,000, is currently under investigation. No injuries were reported.
Nebraska Rep. Mike Flood launches reelection campaign
On Sunday, Congressman Mike Flood kicked off his reelection campaign for Nebraska’s first congressional district.
Flood said he’s working to lower housing costs and advance solutions that make life more affordable for Nebraska families.
Flood started his campaign launch tour with an event on Sunday in Papillion. He plans to travel the first congressional district over the coming days to share more information about his work.
On the Democratic side for Nebraska’s first congressional district for the primary are Democrats Chris Backemeyer and Eric Moyer.
The Statewide Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, May 12 and the Statewide General Election will follow on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
Streetcar utility work near Douglas County Courthouse starts Monday
If your commute takes you near the Douglas County Courthouse, be prepared for more closures starting Monday.
The closures are related to utility work in the Omaha Streetcar Project, according to city officials. Starting Monday, 18th Street south of Harney, along with 17th Street north and south of Harney, will be closed.

The Omaha Streetcar Authority says the street closures are the first of four scheduled in this area for the next three months.
Nebraska businessman Michael Yanney dies over the weekend
A Nebraska businessman and pillar of the Omaha community has passed away.
Michael Yanney, founder of Burlington Capital, died over the weekend.
Yanney was born in Kearney in 1933. He and his wife, Gail, founded “Partnership for Kids,” a mentoring and scholarship program back in 1986.
Governor Jim Pillen and Nebraska Rep. Don Bacon are some of the figures remembering Yanney’s impact on the state.
