Huawei’s Watch GT 6 Pro is receiving HarmonyOS 6.0.0.188
A new Huawei smartwatch update is on the way to some models. Currently rolling out to users in phases, this HarmonyOS 6 release is said to bring a new voice-to-text messaging feature, as well as a heart disease risk assessment. Plus, the Watch GT 6 and Watch GT 6 Pro get enhanced notification settings.
Huawei is rolling out a new update for the Watch GT 6 and Watch GT 6 Pro smartwatches. The previous release, version 6.0.0.173, reached users worldwide in late 2025. Now, HarmonyOS version 6.0.0.188 has been reported by users in China and other countries.
The release notes for the versions of the Watch GT 6 and Watch GT 6 Pro share many similarities. Both mention support for improved notification management, with users able to set up silent notifications and smart reminders. Users of Android devices can now remotely control their smartphone’s camera from the watch, and there is an Alipay-related optimization. Plus, it has been reported in China that an upgraded version of the WeChat app, version 1.1.0, adds support for voice-to-text messaging.
On top of this, users of the Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro are invited to join a research programme linked to coronary heart disease risk. Data collected by the watch over several days is used to determine the wearer’s current risk of heart disease. This appears to be another China-exclusive feature for the time being. You can find the complete change log in the screenshot below.
It is unclear when the rollout of HarmonyOS version 6.0.0.188 for the Huawei Watch GT 6 (curr. €232 at Amazon DE) will be complete.
