The winds of support for Michael Carrick to get the permanent job are getting stronger, and Amad’s latest indirect comment could be the strongest endorsement yet.
For Michael Carrick so far at Man Utd, the results speak for themselves, but more than the results, it’s his tactical acumen that deserves more credit.
Furthermore, he has also spoken and carried himself like a Man Utd manager after 14 months of self-flagellation under Ruben Amorim.
Ruben Amorim deserves ___ % credit for Michael Carrick’s BRILLIANT start at Man Utd
Fill in the blank. Did Amorim lay the foundation for success at Old Trafford?

Now, Amad has given Ineos the blueprint for the managerial search, and it’s not a coincidence that what he said leaves Carrick as the only ideal candidate.

Amad is not the first person to praise Carrick’s impact at the club, but he might be the most important one.
Not only is he a building block for Ineos, but he’s also one of the players who was openly sad at Ruben Amorim’s sacking, as he formed a close bond with him.
For Carrick to come in and immediately get Amad back on his side says a lot about his man-management, and the Ivorian winger has improved as a result.
Speaking on Man Utd’s Inside Carrington podcast, Amad praised Carrick, giving Ineos a blueprint for the ideal manager in the process.
He said: “Having Michael Carrick as a manager in the team is very important because he knows the club. He’s the main man, telling us [the importance] of the club we’re playing for.
“I remember, before games, he tells us that you guys are playing for yourself, but also for the fans, so we want to win and give something back to them.
“The training [under Carrick] is also very enjoyable.”
It’s not a coincidence that Amad repeats the line said by Bruno Fernandes, and more, that being someone who “knows the club” is so important to be a Man Utd manager.
Some clubs are special like that, so unique in their pressures and dynamics that simply getting a big name or a tactical mastermind won’t do any good.
Michael Carrick is just another Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with better players: __ % AGREE
Fill in the blank. Is Carrick actually a better coach, or are we falling for the same trap again?

People who know the club have a specific set of skills to navigate those dynamics and empower the players instead of feeling that pressure as a burden.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is written off as a failure because he didn’t win silverware, but United were the most consistent league outfit they’ve been since Sir Alex Ferguson under his management.
Carrick has shown the same signs, with added tactical tweaks and man-management expertise, which hints at an even higher ceiling.
Chasing big names is not the answer for Man Utd. Amad knows it, and Carrick is the only candidate.
