The 25-year-old rapper was pronounced dead just after 11 a.m. in Fulton County on Wednesday.

FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — Popular rapper Lil Poppa was found dead in Fulton County on Wednesday, the medical examiner’s office confirmed with 11Alive.

Lil Poppa, whose real name is Janarious Mykel Wheeler, was pronounced dead just after 11 a.m. in Fulton County. Wheeler was 25 years old.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office said his manner and cause of death are still pending investigation.

Lil Poppa was based out of Jacksonville, Florida, and was signed to Yo Gotti’s Collective Music Group (CMG). He had released several hit songs over the past few years, including “Love & War,” “Mind Over Matter,” and “HAPPY TEARS,” according to TMZ.

He was scheduled to perform in New Orleans in March for his next performance.
