DALLAS — Cooper Flagg called it “one of the worst games of my life.”

But that won’t matter much to well-funded memorabilia collectors, who will only care about one thing: It was his first game, whether that was good, bad or anything in between.

Flagg’s game-worn jersey from his NBA Summer League debut last July is up for sale in Heritage Auction’s Winter Platinum Sports Auction, which concludes March 1.

The bidding is already up to $40,000, and Heritage estimated its value at $150,000 and up. The jersey (see photo above) comes with a letter of authentication, which was obtained by photo-matching the jersey to Flagg’s first pro game against the Lakers on July 10 in Las Vegas.

Flagg had an uneven debut with 10 points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals. The No. 1 overall pick wasn’t exactly thrilled with the performance.

“I would say that might be one of the worst games of my life,” he told ESPN after the game. “We got the win, so that’s what really matters to me.”

Flagg, however, has already blossomed into a star in his rookie season, averaging 20.4 points per game, 6.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists for the Mavericks. Before the All-Star break, Flagg was on an incredible run of scoring, including a 49-point output against the Hornets on Jan. 29 and multiple 30-point games in the first week of February.

The Flagg jersey isn’t the top billing in Heritage’s auction, though. That honor belongs to the famous Honus Wagner baseball card from 1909, which is valued at more than $3 million with bidding already at $1.9 million.
