Online passport renewal is NOT for U.S. citizens overseas. The Online Passport Renewal system is only for renewing your passport while you are in the United States. Once a person submits an application through the Online Passport Renewal system, their current passport will be electronically invalidated and cannot be used for travel. Furthermore, under current U.S. government regulations, the Online Passport Renewal system is not approved for overseas use.
U.S. citizens applying for or renewing passports outside of the U.S. must make an appointment with U.S. Embassy Tbilisi’s consular section. The only exception is for adult U.S. citizens in Georgia, who may choose to renew their passports by mail. For passport application instructions, visit our website: https://ge.usembassy.gov/passports/
U.S. Embassy Tbilisi processes all passport applications in approximately four (4) weeks.
