FORT MYERS, Fla. –
Former Bethany standout Payton Tolle is no stranger to pitching for the Red Sox.
Tolle made his MLB debut for the Red Sox last August, and made his first postseason appearance later that fall.
On Saturday, Tolle made his Spring Training debut.
Tolle started Boston’s Grapefruit League opener against the Minnesota Twins.
He pitched 2 innings, giving up just 1 hit, a solo home run to Royce Lewis.
He also had 1 strikeout, with zero walks. Overall, Tolle threw 20 pitches, 13 were strikes.
The Red Sox won the game 7-2.
