The schedule at WTA Austin continues to build with a mix of established contenders and dangerous floaters taking the court on Day 2. With quick conditions rewarding aggressive intent and sharp returning, these matchups should offer a good test of who can seize control early and maintain their level across tight baseline exchanges.

As always, we here at LWOT will be offering our predictions for every match on the schedule. But who will advance?

WTA Austin Day 2 Predictions
Kaja Juvan vs Claire Liu

Head-to-Head: First meeting

Claire Liu has picked up some solid wins in qualifying here on home soil, showing she’s comfortable moving and hitting through the a hardcourt. Juvan has had a tougher start to the year with limited hard-court success lately and a few early-round exits. Liu’s extra time on these conditions and steadier rhythm should help her dictate and pull through.

Prediction: Liu in 2

Francesca Jones vs Peyton Stearns

Head-to-Head: First meeting

Peyton Stearns is in familiar territory as the home player, and her hard-court game has been more consistent this season with better baseline depth and recent wins under her belt. Jones has shown flashes but hasn’t matched that same level of reliability on the surface lately. Stearns’ comfort here and ability to stay aggressive should carry her forward.

Prediction: Stearns in 2

Iva Jovic vs Anna Blinkova

Head-to-Head: First meeting

Iva Jovic has been on a strong run on hard courts this year, piling up wins with clean ball-striking and confidence in longer exchanges. Blinkova has struggled early in 2026, dropping several straight matches without much momentum. Jovic’s current form and sharpness on this surface should make her too solid across the board.

Prediction: Jovic in 2
