ATP Acapulco Day 2 Predictions
Terence Atmane vs Grigor Dimitrov

Head-to-head – Atmane 0-1 Dimitrov

Terence Atmane is still searching for a breakthrough this season, while Grigor Dimitrov brings the experience of a seasoned veteran. Atmane will look to his serve for cheap points, but from the baseline Dimitrov’s superior variety and solid groundstrokes should give him the edge. Expect Dimitrov to come through in a highly competitive contest.
Prediction: Dimitrov in 3

Nuno Borges vs Frances Tiafoe

Head-to-head – Borges 0-1 Tiafoe

Nuno Borges will need to produce his very best level to trouble Frances Tiafoe. The American picked up a solid result in Delray Beach last week, which should give him confidence coming into this clash. Although they met once back in 2022, that encounter is unlikely to have much relevance now. With the bigger serve and heavier groundstrokes, Tiafoe should have the tools to secure a relatively comfortable win.
Prediction: Tiafoe in 2

Flavio Cobolli vs Rodrigo Pacheco Mendez

Head-to-head – First Meeting

Flavio Cobolli enters the week on the back of a semifinal run in Delray Beach. The Italian is a clean ball striker from the baseline and is seeded fifth this week. He faces 20-year-old wild card Rodrigo Pacheco Mendez, who has limited main-tour experience. Expect Cobolli to dominate the baseline exchanges and take control of the match.

Prediction: Cobolli in 2

Casper Ruud vs Yibing Wu

Head-to-head – First Meeting

Casper Ruud has had an okayish start to 2026. He reached the fourth round at the Australian Open and then the quarterfinals at Delray Beach last week. The Norwegian is seeded third here and will look for a great result this week to build up steam ahead of his favorite part of the year, the European clay court swing. He faces Yibing Wu, who did well to come through qualifying and is a solid ball striker, but so is Ruud–and with even more ball control. Expect Ruud to battle it out for the win,
Prediction: Ruud in 3
