The Boston Bruins are reportedly interested in bringing back a familiar face ahead of the March 6 trade deadline.

Boston is holding onto the final Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference, and with the Bruins in a playoff push, the team could make additions to further bolster its lineup. One area of need for Boston is a top-six forward, and the team is reportedly interested in bringing back Jake DeBrusk, according to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period.

“The Boston Bruins, Seattle Kraken, and Detroit Red Wings are among the teams believed to have some interest in DeBrusk, who has jumped onto TFP’s latest Trade Watch List,” Pagnotta wrote in an article published on Monday.

“It is unclear as to the type of deal the Canucks are looking for in order to move DeBrusk, but GM Patrik Allvin and team president Jim Rutherford are willing to entertain calls.”

DeBrusk is in the second year of his seven-year, $38.5 million deal with the Canucks, so Boston would have him for the foreseeable future. Yet, with Vancouver likely to begin a rebuild, DeBrusk could be dealt to recoup some assets.

The Bruins selected DeBrusk 14th overall in the 2015 NHL Draft, and he spent seven seasons in Boston from 2017 until 2024.

In his career with the Bruins, DeBrusk skated in 465 games, recording 138 goals and 128 assists for 266 points. With the Canucks this season, he has 13 goals and 15 assists for 28 points in 56 games.
