QUEEN VILLAGE (WPVI) — Bestselling author Jo Piazza met us at Head House books in Queen Village to give her some great ideas to toss in your book bag.
Her first choice is “I Regret Nothing” by restauranteur Keith McNally. She says it will have you gasping over the true tales of a New York legend who met, and often dates, all the bold faced names.
“You need to get it right away,” she says. “Keith McNally pretty much invented the downtown restaurant scene when I was living there in the 90s and 2000s. He spills all the tea. And he’s opening a new restaurant in Rittenhouse Square in August, so get it and read it before it opens.”
Next up is “Wild Dark Shore,” a stunner about a woman who washes up on an almost abandoned island and discovers some wild secrets.

“This one nearly killed me. I stayed up nearly two nights in a row finishing it. I want everyone to go into this one blind because it is unlike anything you’ve read and it is going to slay you,” says Piazza.
Next, the summer pleasure of “The Sunny Side Up” by Katie Sturino, about a woman who reinvents her life in her 30s.
“We all need some escapism,” says Piazza. “We all need something heartwarming and hilarious right now, and this one delivers.”
Finally, Piazza has one she knows is good: her own new book!
“Everyone is Lying to You” is about a murder and disappearance that brings two estranged former best friends back together.
“It is the trad wife murder mystery America has been waiting for,” she promises. “It is juicy and pulpy and so much fun!”
I’ll be back shortly in a few weeks with a new batch to toss in your book bag!
