Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. has announces it has been positioned as a Leader in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide High-Speed Inkjet 2025 Vendor Assessment, reflecting continued momentum in high-speed digital production technology.
While high-speed inkjet has traditionally been associated with commercial print, the segment’s rapid evolution is increasingly relevant to packaging and label converters navigating shorter run lengths, rising substrate costs, and labor challenges.
According to IDC, equipment manufacturers continue to advance inkjet printheads, inks, drying systems, and automation, driving improvements in print quality, productivity, and operational efficiency. At the same time, shifting economics — including higher paper and aluminum plate costs — are accelerating the movement of offset volumes to digital platforms.
IDC also noted that labor shortages are pushing print service providers toward more automated digital systems. Many operations that once required multiple operators per press are now running multiple digital engines with fewer personnel — a dynamic that mirrors trends seen across the label and folding carton sectors.
Konica Minolta has expanded its inkjet portfolio in recent years, building on its AccurioJet platform while continuing development of next-generation systems. The company has also maintained a presence in adjacent markets, including label production, as converters evaluate digital technologies for short- and mid-run packaging applications.
IDC cited Konica Minolta’s high levels of image quality, productivity, substrate versatility, and automation as key strengths, particularly for print providers seeking flexibility across commercial and specialty print segments.
As converters continue balancing speed-to-market, SKU proliferation, and operational efficiency, high-speed inkjet remains a technology category to watch — particularly as digital production economics increasingly align with packaging and label requirements.
