MARYLAND (WBFF) — Two years after immigration authorities say Ruben Alonso Hernandez-Lainez entered the United States illegally from El Salvador, Frederick County investigators say he raped and assaulted one of his roommates inside a Frederick County apartment.

Hernandez-Lainez, 29, entered the country illegally in 2021, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Investigators said the assault happened in February of 2023. Charging documents show Hernandez-Lainez grabbed the victim by the arm and forced her into his room, then told her, “You wont be saved” as he pushed her onto the bed. The victim told investigators the ordeal lasted five to 10 minutes, according to the documents. Charging documents also say Hernandez-Lainez later told the victim “it had been her pleasure.”

Hernandez-Lainez was sentenced last year to three years and four months in prison, with all but 18 months suspended. Last month, an immigration judge issued a final order of removal and Hernandez-Lainez was removed from the U.S.

Tammy Nobles, whose daughter Kayla Hamilton was raped and killed by an illegal immigrant, said she hopes the victim in the Hernandez-Lainez case can recover.

“Hopefully she can heal,” Nobles said.

Nobles said the case reminded her of her daughter’s.

“They both were let in under the Biden Administration,” she said.

ICE said Hernandez-Lainez was originally detained by Border Patrol, but was released before he entered the country illegally.

Nobles said her daughter was raped and killed by MS-13 gang member Walter Hernandez, also from El Salvador. Nobles said he was also detained by Homeland Security before entering the country illegally.

“Walter came into the country March of 2022. He committed the awful crimes on Kayla like three months after he got here,” Nobles said.

They both were monsters who committed horrific crimes.”

Nobles said her daughter’s killer is serving 70 years. She said she hopes Hernandez-Lainez does not return to the U.S.

“Hopefully that guy will stay where he is,” she said.

A criminal history check on Hernandez-Lainez showed only the charges related to this case. Nobles said she believes he has likely committed similar crimes in El Salvador, as she believes was the case with her daughter’s killer.
