Day 4 at the ATP 250 event in Santiago will see the conclusion of the Round of 16, with several intriguing matchups, and even two former champions (Cristian Garin and Sebastian Baez) facing each other. It should be a day filled with high level clay court tennis, with relentless rallies and tight matches decided by fine margins.

ATP Santiago Day 4 Predictions
Adolfo Daniel Vallejo vs Emilio Nava

Head-to-head: Nava 2-1 Vallejo

Nava scored a fantastic win over Matteo Berrettini in the first round and now has a good opportunity to make a rare strong run on clay here. That said, Vallejo is a clay specialist looking to break into the Top 100 and surely won’t make things easy. While Nava is the better player in general, on clay Vallejo might well be able to grind out a win.
Prediction: Vallejo in 3

Francisco Cerundolo vs Elmer Moller

Head-to-head: first meeting

Cerundolo is the #1 seed and the only Top 20 player in this tournament, recently won the title in Buenos Aires and definitely has a great chance to take another title here. On paper, Moller should be clearly outmatched here, with Cerundolo not only the far better player in general but also the far more comfortable player on clay.
Prediction: Cerundolo in 2

Alejandro Tabilo vs Thiago Agustin Tirante

Head-to-head: Tabilo 2-1 Tirante

Tabilo shook off the disappointment of his defeat in the Rio final with a very good first round win here, but now he has a rematch with an opponent who took him to the brink last week. Tirante is a very tough customer on clay and, if Tabilo wants to continue his quest to finally win his home tournament, he will have to work extremely hard to get it done.
Head-to-head: Tabilo in 3

Cristian Garin vs Sebastian Baez

Head-to-head: Baez 2-1 Garin

2021 champion Garin takes on 2024 champion (and 2022 and 2025 finalist) Baez in a classic Golden Swing matchup between two clay specialists. Neither player has been at their best lately, but Baez is certainly much closer to it than Garin (who is close to leaving the top 100). This is his last opportunity for a strong run in this Golden Swing and he should be able to take the win here.
Prediction: Baez in 3
