CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WEAU) – The Chippewa Valley will have more healthcare options this fall.
Aspirus Health says construction for its new hospital and clinic will be done by September.
It’s located in Chippewa Falls on Chippewa Crossing Boulevard, across from Fire Station #1.
Work on the 35,000 square foot hospital started soon after the announcement of the closure of HSHS hospitals in the area. A groundbreaking was held back in August.
Thursday, we got a look at the progress. Officials tell us speed has been a major priority with this project.
“You look at the healthcare landscape in this area in particular, as far as the healthcare organizations, that we know there is a need to fill for this community and in this area. So, speed to market was a critical driver for this project,” said Nathan Ceder, the project executive with Boldt Company.
“We need to return vital services back to our community. So primary care, emergency services. So, the faster we can do it, the better it is for our community,” said Anne Sadowska with Aspirus Health.
According to Aspirus Health, the hospital and clinic will feature an emergency department with 10 treatment rooms and 10 inpatient beds.
