Joshua Zirkzee is not fazed by the prospect of Manchester United signing another striker this summer.
After joining Manchester United from Bologna last summer, Joshua Zirkzee suffered a mixed campaign after struggling to initially settle at Old Trafford.
The Netherlands international went from being jeered by his own fans to hearing them cheer his name as his performances improved.
Sadly for Zirkzee, he missed the end of the season due to injury just as his performances started having a positive impact on Ruben Amorim’s squad.
Zirkzee has travelled with the squad to the United States, but injury ruled him out of the games against Leeds and West Ham.
It remains to be seen if Zirkzee will play any football before the competitive season begins. He is already facing lots of competition for his place in the team.

Zirkzee is set to embark on his second season as a United player.
The Dutch forward will aim to provide more goals and assists than he managed last term, but it remains to be seen how many appearances he will make as a back-up option in Amorim’s side.
Zirkzee scored just three Premier League goals in his first season at Old Trafford following a £36.5 million deal.
Like every player, Zirkzee must prove himself to the United head coach.
Zirkzee insists he’s not fazed by the prospect of United signing another striker, even though he made fewer appearances than Rasmus Hojlund last term.
United’s lack of goals could see United sign a new striker amid links to Benjamin Sesko and Ollie Watkins.
Zirkzee says he would welcome fresh competition at United.
“I think it’s part of being at this club,” Zirkzee said, as per ESPN.
“To be honest I don’t read the news but if another striker were to come I guess it’s only good competition so I’m not really worried.
“Everything is for the team, there’s no selfishness here, that’s not my mantra. If it were to help the team then great.”
Zirkzee eager to improve
Speaking about his first season at United, the former Bayern Munich forward accepts he has not been at his best for the Red Devils.
That is something he will aim to change in the coming season but that depends when he will return from injury.
“I don’t think I’ve shown my best form,” Zirkzee said.
“I think I was on my way towards it [before his injury] but I think there’s improvement every day for all of us.
“[Ruben Amorim] wants goals so that’s what I have to work on. That’s what it all comes down to.
“I’m a different profile but in the end if you’re up top you’re supposed to score goals, I’m not going to take that fact away. But the most important thing is that we win so if Bruno scores 60 goals and we win all the games that’s fine.”
