The anticipated third season of the Australian hit series Colin From Accounts has kicked off production in Australia, with the new and returning cast set. The first two seasons can be streamed in the U.S. exclusively on Paramount+.

From creators, writers and stars Patrick Brammall and Harriet Dyer, Colin From Accounts is a romantic comedy about two flawed, funny people choosing one another. Season 3 returns in the humiliating aftermath of Gordon’s failed proposal, with Gordon, Ashley and Colin’s fate hanging in the balance.

“After the Season 2 cliffhanger, it would be cruel not to show you all what happens next, and we can’t wait for you to see it. Getting to make this show continues to be a total thrill for us, and we’re pumpled (pumped & humbled) that people have enjoyed the first two seasons so much. That’s what they say to our faces, anyway,” Brammall and Dyer shared in a joint statement.

And what a cliffhanger that was. In the Season 2 finale, Ashley and Gordon attended Megan’s (Emma Harvie) surprise wedding to Rumi (Virginia Gay), where, after a rush of emotions during the reception, Gordon gets down on one knee and proposes to Ashley. Feeling the celebratory spirit of the moment, Gordon obviously did not think things through. He looked around as the DJ cut the music, and everyone was stunned and confused as to why he would do such a thing on Meagles and Rumi’s big day.

I understand Gordon is meant to be awkward, but I disagree with the crowd. He was overwhelmed by feelings of love and happiness from the day’s events, and it inspired him to do something crazy. It’s not the end of the world. Yet, Ashley acts like he’s just committed murder, when she explained that it’s not their big day. Ashley says it’s best if they talk about it later, before Gordon tries to play it off as if he was just joking.

She certainly doesn’t say no, but what was supposed to be a huge moment for the couple ended up cringey. But hey, that’s Colin From Accounts. Part of the show’s charm is Ashley and Gordon’s often weird relationship, mostly due to the latter’s cringeworthy moments. But they love each other and they’re perfect together. Hopefully, Season 3 will feature a wedding that includes the baby of the family, Colin, as the ring boy.
