Sophia Lesseos is a News Reporter at KHTS Radio in Santa Clarita, California.
She began her career as a Multimedia Journalist at KNDO/KNDU NBC Right Now in Yakima, Washington, where she covered investigative stories, produced, anchored, reported on sports, filled in for weather, and served as a regional MMJ for KHQ. Sophia later worked as a Reporter/Multimedia Journalist at KMPH FOX26 in Fresno, California. She has a passion for hard news, climate change reporting, and investigative journalism.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Sophia attended College of the Canyons, earning her Associate’s Degree in Journalism in 2019. She then graduated from California State University, Northridge in 2021 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism.
During her time at COC, she interned as a photographer at the Cannes Film Festival in France, where she spent a month capturing moments for the American Pavilion. She was actively involved with Canyon News and helped produce the SCVTV 2018 election show.
At CSUN, Sophia served as the President of the Radio Television Digital News Association in her senior year. She first interned at KHTS Radio in 2019, reporting on breaking news in the SCV Valley, before returning as a News Reporter in 2025. She also worked as an intern and production assistant at ABC7 Los Angeles, contributing to projects for the FACEism documentary series, On The Red Carpet, and Localish. Additionally, she was involved with Valley View News and KCSN, gaining experience as a reporter, editor, writer, and anchor.
In 2021, during her senior year at CSUN, Sophia was awarded the RTNA Hal Fishman Memorial Scholarship at the 71st Annual Golden Mike Awards.
