An explosion in Jeffersonville, Indiana overnight left a home in ruins and sent five people to the hospital. Police said it happened late Wednesday night in the 900 block of Washington Way.When officers arrived, the home was engulfed in flames and there were five injured people in the front yard.Police said two of the victims were taken to hospitals by medical helicopters, and the others by ambulance.The home is now leveled. So far, no word on what caused the explosion.Police said the road there will remain closed until the investigation is complete and they are asking the public to avoid the area. The house that exploded actually butts up to another home that exploded in May 2019 on Assembly Drive. That one was caused by natural gas, and one person, Billy Phillips, died.
