Julian Reese, the younger brother of Angel Reese, paid homage to his sister on Thursday night by recording a double-double with 18 points and 20 rebounds for the Washington Wizards in a 122-112 loss to the Utah Jazz.
Speaking to reporters after his big night, Reese said that Angel “hits me up before and after every game” to help him go over things that will allow him to maximize his ability on the court.
The Wizards signed Reese to a two-way contract on March 28. He had been playing for Raptors 905 in the G League prior to signing with Washington.
Per The Athletic’s Josh Robbins, Reese’s 20 rebounds are the most in a game by a rookie this season and the most by a Wizards rookie since Tom Gugliotta in January 1993.
Reese, an undrafted free agent in 2025, has shined in his first three NBA games with the Wizards. He is averaging 9.7 points and 10.7 rebounds per contest.
Angel has averaged a double-double in each of her first two WNBA seasons with the Chicago Sky. She has a streak of five consecutive years averaging at least 10 points and 10 rebounds per game dating back to her sophomore year in college.
