Turn on the game!

Three must-see events this week:

1. Minnesota at Avalanche (noon Sunday, TNT) — Ball Arena reunites with Nazem Kadri, whose last playoff game was the Cup-winning Game 6 in 2022. No wonder he longed to return.

2. NFL negotiation window (10 a.m. Monday) — Follow Chris Tomasson and Kyle Fredrickson on DenverGazette.com to learn where the Broncos spend the big bucks in free agency.

3. NCAA Tournament Selection Show (4 p.m. Sunday, March 15, CBS) — Can Colorado State again shoot its way to a Big Dance berth at the Mountain West tournament in Las Vegas?

Numbers game

0 — special teams coordinators on Deion Sanders’ coaching staff at Colorado in 2026, he said, another unconventional move for a Buffs program on the brink

Box office

$20 — for a reserved seat at the CHSAA Class 6A boys Final Four at Denver Coliseum on Friday. No. 1 Chaparral gets No. 5 Rock Canyon (5:45 p.m.), while No. 2 Ralston Valley gets No. 3 Rangeview (7:15 p.m.). Each can win two more.

On this day

March 8, 2016 — Rookie Nikola Jokic (20 points, nine rebounds, three assists) led the Nuggets to a 110-94 win over former Nuggets star Carmelo Anthony (30 points, seven rebounds, four assists) and the Knicks

Final word

Will the Nuggets retaliate for Lu Dort’s cheap shot on Jokic? It’s a matter of when, not if. I’ll take the first quarter on Monday (5:30 p.m., Peacock). But the Nuggets have bigger problems than payback. They’re 7-9 since Jokic returned from injury Jan. 30. Only 2.5 games clear of a play-in game, the Nuggets must pile up wins to ensure a playoff rematch with big, bad OKC.
