The Green Bay Packers are staring down some tough roster calls this offseason, and general manager Brian Gutekunst has a stack of expiring contracts to work through. One of the bigger names in that group is wide receiver Romeo Doubs, and all signs point to him leaving in free agency.
Doubs has been with the Packers for four seasons, racking up 202 receptions, 2,424 yards and 21 touchdowns during that stretch. Those numbers might end up being his final totals in Green Bay if he walks this spring like most people expect.

Contract talks between the two sides did not go anywhere. The Packers and Doubs tried to hammer out an extension, but they could not find common ground.
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported, adding that Doubs should draw plenty of interest once free agency opens.
“Romeo Doubs is set to hit the market. Talks with Green Bay did not result in a deal. He will have several suitors,” Fowler wrote.
The New England Patriots, Washington Commanders and Tennessee Titans are all expected to monitor the situation closely. The San Francisco 49ers are also in the mix. Some league evaluators think Doubs is the most well-rounded receiver available in this year’s free agent class.

Doubs has turned into Jordan Love’s most trusted target over the past couple years. He is solid on possession routes and can still make plays downfield when the offense needs a spark.
That balance has made him a serious piece of what Green Bay does on offense. Losing him would cost more than just production. The connection between Love and Doubs has real chemistry, and that is not easy to replace.
