Indiana Fever‘s guard Sophie Cunningham is now an unrestricted free agent after averaging 8.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.2 assists through 30 games this season.

She also hit career highs in shooting, at 46.9% from the field and 43.2% from deep. Her season ended early in August after Connecticut Sun’s Bria Hartley accidentally fell into her leg, tearing Cunningham’s right MCL. She’s been rehabbing since, but she hasn’t slowed down her social media presence.

This week, the 29-year-old posted a pair of videos in her Instagram story while wearing a blue bikini. In the first clip, she got candid about what it’s actually like to be 6-foot-1 in everyday situations like ducking pool umbrellas and bumping into things other people walk right under.

“When you are 6’1, you’ll just be like doing normal people things like walking back from the bathroom and filling up your water,” she said. “You ran into an umbrella that shakes the whole thing and almost falls over. Other people walk right under it, but why is there a pool umbrella at six foot? I don’t know.”

And in the second clip, she discussed her diet, saying she had been cutting gluten, which helped clear her skin and reduce bloating. But during a trip to New York City, she went back to her old habits.

It tracks with the broader bodywork she has been putting in this offseason. Previously listed at 165 pounds, Cunningham posted a scale video showing she had dropped to 148.5 after cutting 16.5 lbs. However, she explicitly noted that she now wants to gain 5 lbs of muscle before the 2026 season begins to reach her ideal playing weight.

Where she’ll play next is the main uncertainty. Free agency is currently on hold while the league and the players’ union negotiate a new CBA agreement. The league has a March 10 deadline to finalize an agreement. Otherwise, the season opener on May 8 is at serious risk.

Cunningham hasn’t hidden her frustration, claiming the league is just waiting for us players to crack. For now, she’s stuck in limbo while rehabbing her knee, watching her diet, and waiting for a deal.
