Manchester United loan forward Enzo Kana-Biyik is off to a tough start.

At the start of July 2025, Manchester United announced the signing of Enzo Kana-Biyik from Le Havre.

The promising talent was sent out on loan for the season to Ineos owned club Lausanne Sport, playing in the Swiss top flight.

However, following an injury sustained in training, the 18-year-old striker faces a delay in making his debut.

The latest update on Enzo Kana-Biyik comes from Switzerland, with the teenage forward ruled out for the next two months.

Swiss newspaper Blick reports Kana-Biyik has suffered ‘a severe knee sprain’. It is estimated he faces eight weeks on the sidelines to recover.

Kana-Biyik has already missed Lausanne’s league opening game, last weekend, along with the first leg of their Europa Conference League qualifier.

Nightmare start but time is on Enzo Kana-Biyik’s side

Enzo Kana-Biyik did feature for Lausanne in a pre-season game days after signing for the club. While he did not get on the scoresheet, it was a useful runout in a win.

Unfortunately he will now have to wait to make his professional debut, frustrating for him as he attempts to make an impression at his new club.

The good news is that Kana-Biyik has time on his side. He has the whole season ahead and could be back in action by October. He can use the time out to acclimatise to life in Switzerland off the pitch.

This could also just be the first loan for Kana-Biyik in his career at the club. While United hope he will be able to break into the first team in the future, there is no rush for this to be in 2026. He is a long-term investment who United hope to one day use, or turn a profit on.
