The 2026 edition of the ATP Indian Wells has not disappointed so far and the Round of 32 should be no different. The top seeds are in play and as ever, we preview and predict the scheduled matches for you.
ATP Indian Wells Day 6 Predictions
Alex de Minaur vs Cameron Norrie
Head-to-head – de Minaur 2-2 Norrie
Alex de Minaur has started 2026 well and already picked up a solid win this week over Sebastian Korda. Cameron Norrie has struggled for rhythm this season, and the Australian’s speed and consistency from the baseline could frustrate him. Expect de Minaur to grind this out with his movement and defensive skills.
Prediction: de Minaur in 2
Sebastian Baez vs Daniil Medvedev
Head-to-head – Medvedev 1-0 Baez
Daniil Medvedev appears to be finding his footing again on hard courts. Sebastian Baez earned an excellent win over Jiri Lehecka earlier this week, but this matchup is a big step up in quality. With his superior serve and deep baseline positioning, Medvedev should be able to dictate rallies and control the match.
Prediction: Medvedev in 2
Taylor Fritz vs Alex Michelsen
Head-to-head – Fritz 0-1 Michelsen
Alex Michelsen will likely play aggressively and look to take control early in rallies. However, Taylor Fritz’s consistency and experience should be key, especially on the slower courts at Indian Wells, which give him extra time to set up his shots. Michelsen might red-line for a set, but Fritz is the more reliable player over the full match.
Prediction: Fritz in 3
Novak Djokovic vs Aleksandar Kovacevic
Head-to-head – Djokovic 1-0 Kovacevic
Novak Djokovic had to work through his first match but should settle into the tournament now. Aleksandar Kovacevic is a capable player, though he lacks the firepower to consistently trouble Djokovic from the baseline. If the Serbian plays near his usual level, this should be a comfortable victory.
Prediction: Djokovic in 2
