Avengers: Doomsday

During a recent interview with Esquire, Lewis Pullman revealed Avengers: Doomsday includes “a lot of really exciting pair-ups” between unexpected characters.

Every character has their moment that builds the dimensions of them. The Russo brothers did that so well. They do not want anyone just sitting in the background. They really took to heart the responsibility of having some of the best actors in the world all together. There’s a lot of really exciting pair-ups that happen. A lot of fans will be really excited. It’s so fun to dream about. What if A and B would work together? Would B and D would work together? You get to see a lot of those fantasies come into fruition.

Street Fighter

Elsewhere, David Dastmalchian discussed the weight of taking over the role of M. Bison from predecessors like the late Raúl Juliá in a new interview with Screen Rant.

I’ve been doing theater, thankfully, for longer than I ever have been on camera. And so I remember getting to go and step into the shoes of Tom Wingfield in The Glass Menagerie, or an iconic Shakespeare character, or a famous Sam Shepard role. And I remember that terrifying pressure of, like, how many people have seen this already done? What is the idea in their mind for this character? So you have to try and — we’ll see!

Star Trek

In another recent interview with Screen Rant, Robert Picardo stated he’s heard the Star Trek movie franchise will be “totally reinvented with all new characters” now that there are no longer any current series in development.

I’ve heard that the movie franchise is going to be totally reinvented with all new characters. That’ll be great to see and interesting. I don’t think we’ve ever done that before. You know what I mean? Even when they rebooted the original characters in the movies with Chris Pine a dozen years ago or whatever it was, they were still familiar characters. Now we’re going to see presumably all-new Star Trek characters. That’ll be interesting.

And then for the next show — I mean, Starfleet Academy is an idea that has been talked about forever, and they just had to figure out how to do it. And the critical response to the show has been amazing, with almost 95% positive reviews. Nowadays, of course, everyone’s a critic. So on social media, there’s a lively discussion about what Star Trek should be.

I see fans who say, “We own the IP. We own the property because we’ve watched it for so many years.” Which is kind of not really true. The property is kind of owned by the studio, and the studio decides to invest in a particular pitch and a writer. And if you can do better, then I encourage any Star Trek fan that has a vision for Star Trek in the future — by golly, come to Hollywood, go in and pitch CBS Paramount with your vision for Star Trek, and definitely write a part for me. That’s all. That’s my best advice.

Avatar 4

James Cameron stated a fourth Avatar movie is still “very likely” to happen during his recent appearance at the Saturn Awards.

Hokum

Darkwing Duck

Speaking with Screen Rant at the Saturn Awards, Darkwing Duck voice actor Jim Cummings provided an update on Seth Rogen’s planned reboot series.

I think it’s long overdue. And we’re all still alive and kicking. I guess Seth Rogen, my old buddy, he’s going to be one of the prime movers, shakers. So stay tuned.

We’ve only recorded basically one offshoot so far. But the thing is, if it’s not broke, you don’t fix it. Gosalyn’s grown up. So that’s interesting. But yeah, you stay tuned.

3 Body Problem
