Violet Grohl has announced her debut album, Be Sweet to Me, out on May 29th via her own Auroura Records and Republic Records. She has also revealed the project’s latest single, “595,” which comes after the double-sided “THUM” and “Applefish” release in December. Stream it below.
Grohl, one of our 2026 Artists to Watch, crafted Be Sweet to Me through a loving lens, one trained specifically on film. In particular, the album was colored by Grohl’s love for horror movies, and also those made by the late filmmaker David Lynch. The result is an album that is as influenced by wide-screen cinema as it is by the musical instruments that were used to make it.
The singer-songwriter’s self-proclaimed encyclopedic knowledge of music also shines through on Be Sweet to Me, as influences come pouring from multiple directions. Alternative has its place of inspiration right alongside new wave, trip hop, Scandinavian black metal, vocal jazz, and ’70s acoustic folk.

The album was recorded at producer Justin Raisen’s (Kim Gordon, Charli XCX) Los Angeles home studio alongside musicians assembled “in the spirit of the vintage Wrecking Crew session players.” In a statement, Grohl said music is a “key thing that connects my family,” acknowledging not only her father, Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters, but also her paternal grandparents, who played flute and sang in local groups.
“Around the time I was 12, it clicked for me that I love watching other people make music, and maybe I could too,” she continued. “I had been writing poetry as well, and it kick-started the drive to want to turn painful experiences into art.”
Inspired by a vintage T-shirt advertising a phone sex line, “595” features the memorable lyrics, “I’ll be your 1-900-G spot, baby/ 595 I’m on the line/ You won’t last.” The song promises a rollicking good time, even without the phone sex.

“595” follows the standalone single “What’s Heaven Without You,” which was inspired by Lynch and released on January 20th to coincide with the late filmmaker’s birthday.
