Clark has joined Team USA for its slate of five FIBA Women’s World Cup qualifying games in Puerto Rico. After missing all but 13 games in the 2025 WNBA season due to a number of injuries, many wondered if Clark — coming off the bench — would be rusty in her first game since July 2025.

The short answer is “no.”

Caitlin Clark stats vs Senegal

Score after three quarters: USA 82, Senegal 36

Clark started the game on the bench and checked in at the 5:16 mark of the first quarter. Within 35 seconds, she had dished out an assist for fellow debutant Monique Billings. She knocked down her first 3-pointer with 1:15 to go in the quarter, getting a kind bounce in off the rim for her first points with the national team.

After she checked back in, Clark drilled another 3 midway through the second quarter, and she set up Atlanta Dream star Rhyne Howard for a couple threes late in the half. She ended the half already flirting with a double-double: eight points and eight assists in only 10 minutes and 22 seconds of action.

Midway through the third, Clark returned to the floor alongside Paige Bueckers in the backcourt — and with her “rival” Angel Reese in the frontcourt. Clark quickly assisted Reese for a lay-up to notch her ninth assist, and she grabbed her 10th dime with a pass to Bueckers for an open 3-point shot.

They say a deep three for Clark is like a lay-up for most other players. Hard to disagree based on this shot.
