Nicole Kidman is staying in her home base.
The Practical Magic 2 star, 58, opened up about whether she would be leaving Nashville and starting fresh after her split from husband Keith Urban during an interview with Variety published on Wednesday, March 11.
Despite the big personal change, Kidman said she would be staying in the Tennessee capital as she’s put down roots there over the last two decades. “We have our life here,” she told the outlet. “I’m part of the city and community for 20 years. It’s my home.”

Kidman officially filed for divorce from Urban, 58, in September 2025, PEOPLE confirmed at the time. The exes share two daughters together: Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 15. (Kidman is also mom to daughter Bella, 33, and son Connor, 31, from her first marriage to Tom Cruise.)
During her interview with Variety, she also spoke out about the divorce for the first time after she was asked if she was “doing all right” following their separation. “I am, because I’m always going to be moving toward what’s good,” she responded.
“What I’m grateful for is my family and keeping them as is and moving forward. That’s that,” Kidman added. “Everything else I don’t discuss out of respect. I’m staying in a place of, ‘We are a family,’ and that’s what we’ll continue to be. My beautiful girls, my darlings, who are suddenly women.”
Kidman and Urban first met in 2005 and married the following year. Two years later, they made Nashville their home base when they purchased their sprawling family home dubbed the Queen of Northumberland.
In August 2025, a source close to the family told PEOPLE why Kidman loves Nashville life so much. “Nicole lives full-time in Nashville. She loves the tight-knit community and group of friends that she has built, and it’s the perfect place to raise her children,” the insider said at the time.

After news of Kidman and Urban’s split broke, a source told PEOPLE that the country singer had moved out of their Nashville family home. “Their lives were moving in different directions, and once he quietly set up his own place, it felt like the writing was on the wall,” the source said.
“It really hasn’t been a secret in their circles that Keith and Nicole have been living separately for a while now,” the insider added. “People close to Keith felt like the split was kind of inevitable.”
The pair reached a settlement and finalized their divorce in January 2026. Kidman was granted primary custody of their daughters at her Nashville residence. However, both parents agreed to hold joint responsibility for major decisions regarding their daughters’ lives moving forward, PEOPLE previously reported.
