EastEnders’ Suki Panesar-Unwin meets her match next week, as she makes a failed attempt to meddle in Penny Branning’s pregnancy decisions! After being warned to mind her own business, will the Panesar matriarch agree to back off?
“Penny and Vinny are starting an exciting new chapter together – but Suki was always going to have her say!” begins our Walford insider. “It should be a joyous time for the young couple’s families, but Suki has her reservations and isn’t shy when it comes to voicing them…”

At the start of the week, Vinny tries to find the right moment to tell his mum that Penny is expecting his child. While there’s already been plenty of gossip around the Square following the happy news, Vinny has nervously avoided bringing Suki into the picture.
Oblivious Suki shuts down Vinny’s attempts to speak with her privately, but this leads to chaos when tactless Jack subsequently gets involved…
“Jack suggests that the Panesar family should come over for lunch to discuss the baby,” explains our source.
“Suki’s face is a picture – it’s the first she’s heard about any of it. Jack immediately realises that he’s put his foot in it – not for the first time when it comes to Penny’s baby – but the damage is already done.”
Notoriously protective when it comes to her family, Suki is miffed that she was kept in the dark by Vinny. It’s a disastrous start to the new family dynamic, as Suki puts her guard up and bitterly clashes with Vinny and Penny over the pregnancy.

“You have to feel for Vinny and Penny – they’ve already dealt with Jack’s unwanted opinions, and now they have to field questions from Suki too,” says our source. “The good news is that they’ve been strong and united as a couple recently, so let’s hope that stays true with Suki on the case.”
The next day, Penny makes a final bid to set some boundaries – warning that she and Vinny will have the baby with or without Suki’s blessing. But after years of being pushed around by his family, will Vinny finally stand his ground?

“Suki might be fighting a losing battle this time,” predicts our insider. “Penny is fiercely independent and won’t let anyone interfere in her life, so Suki may need to start showing some support – or step aside!”
