Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary needs volunteers to work with spring animals

  • March 12, 2026

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – As we inch closer to spring and summer, more wildlife starts to stir.

Sometimes small or infant animals get hurt or separated, and that’s when the Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary in Green Bay comes in.

We talked with Lori Bankson, curator of animals at the sanctuary, about the need for volunteers to help with this influx of animals.

The next R-PAWS training is Saturday, March 14, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

You must have training to volunteer with the animals at the sanctuary. Call (920) 391-3683 to RSVP. It’s open to anyone 18 and older or families.

The 535-acre wildlife sanctuary is open to visitors daily from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Nature Center is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
