We are excited to introduce you to the new staff covering North Carolina athletics and recruiting for TarHeel247 on the247Sports network. The staffers have many ties to the UNC program, as you will see in their individual bios below.
Andrew Jones – Andrew is in his 30th year in sports media and ran an outstanding site dedicated to the Tar Heels for the last 11 years. He has covered seven Final Fours, 65 UNC-Duke basketball games, Dean Smith’s last season as head coach and all four major pro sports. He has interviewed the likes of Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Peyton Manning, Bobby Bowden, John Thompson, Mike Krzyzewski, Roy Williams, Andre Agassi, Cal Ripken, and so many UNC football and basketball greats. AJ’s mission has always been about maintaining the highest journalistic standard and that will continue driving him at TarHeel247.
John Henson – The legendary UNC star needs no introduction to anyone here. Instead, you can read quotes from Henson on how he feels about this new role, the plans he has for the 2025-2026 basketball season and more. Needless to say, we are very excited to have John as part of our team here at TarHeel247.
David Sisk – Sisk has coached basketball on the middle school, high school, AAU, and college levels. He began coaching in 1993 and retired in 2024. He worked with more than 100 players who went on to play college ball, and three who made it to the NBA during his time with the Tennessee Travelers. He spent five years at Martin Methodist on the NAIA level as an assistant coach. David has worked in recruiting media since 2015. During that time he has spent time on the Memphis, Vanderbilt, Minnesota, Kentucky, and North Carolina beats.
Noah Weiskopf – Noah is a recent college graduate with a degree in Journalism. He was the Sports Editor of The Lantern – Ohio State’s award-winning independent daily student newspaper. In that role, he was the lead football writer and covered the Buckeyes’ 2025 national-championship winning season. He also covered the OSU men’s basketball team. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Weiskopf also covered the Cleveland Browns for the 247Sports network while a full-time student. He has also done freelance work for Cleveland.com and the Associated Press.
Michael Felder – Michael Felder has been a fixture in college football sports media since 2008. He has been a lead recruiting analyst, college football analyst and NFL Draft analyst for Bleacher Report. Felder has also been featured on Sirius XM, ESPN, Fox Sports and radio all over the country. Felder played safety at UNC during the John Bunting era, and loves to watch film and talk ball. He especially loves to focus on scheme, personnel, roster management and more.Â
Seth Guttman – Guttman has worked in the football recruiting offices at Michigan (under Jim Harbaugh), Georgia Tech (under Geoff Colins) and at North Carolina under Mack Brown. His duties included watching hours of video to uncover and evaluate prospects, hosting recruits on gameday visits to the UNC campus, editing video and cutting highlights and worked on analytics projects to identify trends in the recruiting industry. In addition to his football experience, he has worked in media positions at SNY in New York, Fangraphs and MLB.com. Seth will bring a unique perspective and skill set to the UNC recruiting beat.
Jacob Turner – An Appalachian State graduate with a degree in Journalism, Turner has covered UNC football, basketball and recruiting since November 2018. Currently, he serves as a podcast host and will be responsible for much of the podcast and video content on the platform.
Kevin Roy – Roy is a seasoned sports photographer who has spent the past eight years capturing UNC football and basketball. His connection to Tar Heel fandom runs deep—dating back to 2004 when he began contributing to UNC fan sites, first as a moderator for Inside Carolina and later transitioning to another site in 2006. Kevin played college baseball at UNC Pembroke and previously served in government for 16 years, bringing discipline and dedication to every phase of his career.Â
