“Late Night” host Seth Meyers on Thursday ridiculed Donald Trump over a baffling exchange when the president appeared to completely misunderstand a reporter’s question.

Meyers aired a clip in which Trump was asked about unverified and contested reports that FBI Director Kash Patel had “found burn bags of Russiagate materials,” Trump, seemingly confused, replied, “He said what?”

After the reporter repeated, “Burn bags of Russiagate materials,” Trump responded, “I don’t know what you mean by that statement.”

When the reporter clarified again, Trump replied, “Oh, I thought you said appointed a man called Burn Bag. Go ahead.”

“Oh, dude. Don’t admit that!” he said. “Just say, ‘I couldn’t hear you.’ Don’t tell the world you were off by a country mile.”

The host then impersonated Trump: “‘Oh, I thought you were saying the name of a person who has never existed on Earth.’”
