The Desi Destination Festival is back, and fans are pumped with the reveal of the headlining artists. Breaking Borders Festival 2026 is coming back to the Mediterranean, and the dates for the festival have been revealed. It will be arranged in Malta from September 3 to September 6, 2026, a four-day celebration.

The lineup for the festival includes a lot of big names from the Punjabi and South Asian music scene, and their performances will take place over a total of 4 days. This is not just a music festival but a community-driven celebration, which can be considered as a desi gala party including Canadian talents.

The inaugural edition of the festival took place last year in 2025. This will be the second year for this unique destination festival. The lineup for 2026 is led by Karan Aujla, who will be performing for two days, headlining on Friday and Sunday. The artist has already decided to go for two separate set-lists for both days, and fans are very excited about the announcements. This is the first approach by a Punjabi-Canadian star that has not happened before, and the artist seems to be excited, too.

In a recent statement, Karan said, “2025 was just the beginning, and 2026 is about to be something special,” and he further added, “This year, I get a chance to headline two nights with two different setlists. This is something I’ve never done before. This festival represents Desi culture on a global stage, and being a part of that journey means a lot to me.”

The fans are also excited for the captivating music performance by AP Dhillon as the Canadian-Punjabi star will be headlining on Saturday. A large number of Punjabi music lovers are traveling to Malta to attend this festival only. Dhillon said, “Malta, I’m coming through,” and also added, “Proud to see how far our community’s reached. Can’t wait to headline Saturday and put on a show to remember.”

The diversified lineup for the event also includes The PropheC, HarkiratSangha, Panjabi MC, BK, TegiPannu, Miss Pooja, and many others. Canadian-Punjabi music artists Sukha and Prabh will also be there at the event, and this showcases a massive gathering of Canadian artists who are actually Indians. The tantalizing musical nights would get even more powerful with DJ takeovers from collectives DesiBeatz and Jawani 4eva.

Malta is an island destination in Europe. This destination-style event has become a hub for the Desi diaspora music artists, who showcase the influence of Punjabi and South Asian music on global music industries. The tickets for the Breaking Borders presale started on March 8, and the general ticket sale is ongoing from March 9.
