A turning point, perhaps?

West Brom win their first game in 2026, ending a 13-game winless run in the league. They are still in a right old scrap to stay up, but this is a huge boost.

Perhaps the biggest compliment I can give is that they were by far the better side against Hull. The red card was the key moment, but The Baggies were well on top before that.

There was a real optimism and hope at full time at The Hawthorns, they haven’t felt that in a while. James Morrison has his first win as manager, too.

For Hull, that’s a real sucker punch but fortunately for them, Ipswich were the only team above them in the table who won.
