The 2026 NFL free agency period officially began Wednesday after two days of legal tampering yielding a massive amount of deals. Those can now be formally signed.
In addition to those deals, trades that were agreed to prior to the official start of free agency can also become official.

On Tuesday night, the Raiders suddenly announced that their trade that sent Maxx Crosby to Baltimore was off. The Raiders only said that the Ravens had “backed out” of the deal.
First thing Wednesday morning, the other shoe dropped as it was reported that the Ravens had come to terms with star defensive end Trey Hendrickson on a four-year, $112 million contract. They land a star pass rusher after all.
On Thursday, as expected, Kyler Murray signed with the Minnesota Vikings, joining J.J. McCarthy in the QB room.
Earlier in the week, the action kicked off with the news that the Dolphins will release Tua Tagovailoa, who will reportedly sign with the Falcons on a one-year deal. Travis Kelce is reportedly set on returning to the Chiefs for 2026, while Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III is reportedly in agreement on a deal to join Kelce and Patrick Mahomes. Wide receiver Alec Pierce is set to return to Indianapolis, the Steelers are signing running back Rico Dowdle, and Mike Evans is making the move from Tampa Bay to the Bay Area.

The New York Giants are set to add to their receiving corps with Darnell Mooney planning to sign with the team, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
Mooney, 28, grabbed 32 receptions (on 72 targets) for 443 yards and a touchdown for the Atlanta Falcons last season. A broken collarbone and hamstring injury limited him to 15 games.
The wideout previously played four seasons with the Chicago Bears and two for the Falcons. Mooney’s best season was the 2021-22 campaign, when he compiled 81 catches for 1,055 yards abd 4 TDs.

Quarterback Trey Lance is returning to the Los Angeles Chargers on a one-year deal, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports. The deal could be worth up to $6.75 million.
Lance, 25, appeared in four games for the Chargers last season, making one start after signing as a free agent. He threw for 226 yards and one interception, completing 47% of his 57 passes.
The 2021 first-round pick (No. 3 overall) of the San Francisco 49ers, Lance is looking to establish himself after two seasons with the 49ers and one with the Dallas Cowboys.

The Tennessee Titans reportedly agreed to restructure wide receiver Calvin Ridley, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Ridley has spent the last two seasons with the Titans. The 31-year-old receiver caught 17 catches for 303 yards last season. Ridley only played in seven games due to missing the second half of the season with a broken fibula. Ridley will now be paired with Titans free agent addition Wan’Dale Robinson.

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson has received interest from multiple teams, including the Green Bay Packers, according to ESPN’s Stephen Holder.
Richardson is the former fourth overall pick of the 2023 NFL Draft and spent behind Daniel Jones after losing out in the quarterback battle. Richardson’s future with the team is uncertain after the Colts signed Jones to a two-year, $88 million extension.
The 23-year-old has played in only 17 games over three years and has dealt with injuries throughout his career.
Richardson would look to fill the void left by former Packers quarterback Malik Willis. The Miami Dolphins signed Willis this offseason.

The Cincinnati Bengals reportedly have agreed to terms with veteran quarterback Josh Johnson, according to the team. Johnson has played for 14 different teams; this is his third stint with the Bengals.
Joe Flacco and Jake Browning were the Bengals back up last season. Flacco is still a free agent, while Browning signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Friday.

The Washington Commanders reportedly agreed to terms with running back Jerome Ford, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Ford spent his first four seasons with the Cleveland Browns. The Commanders also added running back Rachaad White this offseason. Last year, rookie running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt led the Commanders in rushing yards.

Defensive tackle Da’Shawn Hand is signing a one-year, $3 million contract with the Atlanta Falcons, according to reports.
Hand, 30, registered 1.5 sacks and 29 tackles — both the second-highest totals of his career — in 13 games last season with the Los Angeles Chargers. He also grabbed his first career interception.
During his eight NFL seasons, he’s also played with the Detroit Lions, Tennessee Titans and Miami Dolphins.

The Philadelphia Eagles won’t be trading star wide receiver A.J. Brown at the moment, according to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini, who reported that the Eagles had entertained “serious conversations” with both the Los Angeles Rams and New England Patriots.
“If a trade were to happen, it would likely heat up closer to June 1,” Russini reported.

The Philadelphia Eagles and tight end Dallas Goedert have pushed back the void date on his contract for a second time, moving it to Monday, reports The Athletic’s Zach Berman.
Originally, the procedure was moved from Tuesday, just before NFL free agency opened, to Friday.
The intention behind pushing the void date back was to give both sides more time to negotiate a contract extension. If Goedert becomes a free agent, the Eagles will take a $20.5 million hit in dead money on their salary cap. With an extension, Philadelphia will avoid the dead cap hit.
Last season, Goedert, 31, notched 60 receptions for 591 yards and 11 touchdowns (tied for second in the NFL). He’s played all eight of his NFL seasons with the Eagles.

The Tennessee Titans are releasing cornerback L’Jarius Sneed, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported. The move will save $11.4 million from the team’s salary cap in 2026 and $16.4 million in 2027.
Sneed, 29, played two seasons with the Titans after being acquired from the Kansas City Chiefs. He subsequently signed a four-year, $76.4 million deal. However, Sneed appeared in only 12 games with no interceptions due to quad and knee injiuries that required surgeries.
Meanwhile, Tennessee signed several cornerbacks in free agency including Alontae Taylor, Cor’Dale Flott and Josh Williams.

Tight end Tyler Conklin is signing a one-year deal with the Detroit Lions, according to his agent.
Conklin, 30, appeared in 13 games (with 5 starts) with the Los Angeles Chargers last season. But he collected only 7 receptions for 101 yards, far below his typical numbers. The eight-year veteran reportedly dealt with a hamstring injury and a concussion, yet he was also a healthy scratch for several games.
With Sam LaPorta returning from back surgery and Brock Wright recovering from a neck injury, Conklin should provide depth at tight end. During his career, he’s averaged 36 catches and 350 yards. He played four seasons with the Minnesota Vikings and three with the New York Jets.

Offensive tackle Rasheed Walker is going to the Carolina Panthers on a one-year contract, NFL Network reports. The deal is worth up to $10 million, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
Walker, 26, has started 48 of a possible 51 games during the past three seasons with the Green Bay Packers. He was the team’s 2022 seventh-round pick out of Penn State.
Last season, Walker allowed 5 sacks in 986 offensive snaps, according to Pro Football Focus. He will likely fill in at left tackle for Ikem Ekwonu, who suffered a ruptured patellar tendon during the playoffs.

Former Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Dyami Brown has signed a one-year deal worth up to $3 million with the Washington Commanders, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Brown is headed back to Washington, where he began his pro career as a third-round pick out of UNC in 2021. He has scattered five touchdowns across his five-season career.
Last season in Jacksonville, he caught 20 passes for 227 yards and a score.
Pelissero then reported that the Commanders are also bringing aboard Van Jefferson, who has bounced around the league with the Tennessee Titans (2025), Pittsburgh Steelers (2024) and Atlanta Falcons (2023) after spending three-plus seasons with the Los Angeles Rams.

Former Chicago Bears safety and special teamer Jonathan Owens, who famously is star gymnast Simone Biles’ husband, signed a one-year deal with the Indianapolis Colts, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.
Owens went undrafted out of Missouri Western in 2018 but got his chance in the league with the Arizona Cardinals. He spent 2019-22 with the Houston Texans, 2023 with the Green Bay Packers and then each of the past two seasons with the Bears.
Owens has scored twice in his NFL career, returning a fumble for six with the Packers and then taking a blocked punt back to the house with the Bears.
This past season in Chicago, he played only 47 defensive snaps, per PFF — his fewest since 2020 with the Texans — but he still made an impact on special teams.

Ravens GM Eric DeCosta said this week that both sides “ran out of time” to finalize an extension for the quarterback before the free agent market opened.
The move will free up $40 million for the Ravens, which helped in the signing of Trey Hendrickson.
DeCosta said talks on a Jackson extension will continue. Jackson can become an unrestricted free agent after the 2027 season.
