Chicago Cubs to make special announcement at Wrigley Field

It’s official! The Chicago Cubs will host the 2027 All-Star Game at Wrigley Field.

Illinois Governor JB Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson joined Cubs Executive Chairman Tom Ricketts, among other guests, during a special ceremony for the announcement Friday morning.

This will be the first time an All-Star Game will be held at Wrigley since 1990.

City council passed an ordinance in June to put bollards or anchored-down cylinders around the ballpark.

MLB commissioner Rob Manfred said the development of Wrigleyville makes it a perfect host.

The game will be announced July 13, 2027, which will also be the 97th Midsummer Classic.

Next year’s game will take place at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
