ANDREWS, S.C. (WCSC) – Water and sewer services have been temporarily restored to an Andrews mobile home park after an agreement with town officials, despite the park’s owner still owing them over $150,000.
Residents of the Black River Mobile Home Community received a letter last month saying the park’s owner, Tim Woodbridge, owed this six-figure amount, despite neighbors claiming they had been paying him their bills directly for months.
The Town of Andrews says they have never received that money and Woodbridge is nearly 20 months behind on his payments.
Andrews’ Mayor Frank McClary sent a release Saturday, saying the town council held an emergency meeting Friday morning to address the urgent need to restore the water and sewer services, regardless of the payment.
He says the town council unanimously approved to restore the services while an agreement is being established between the town and the park’s residents.
The release says this agreement would “require unwavering commitment and cooperation” from both the mobile home park and the Town of Andrews.
McClary says he is confident the groups can overcome this challenge and thanks them for their cooperation. The group plans to meet again next week to discuss more details.
McClary adds that the outstanding bill with Woodbridge still remains his responsibility.
The town is encouraging everyone impacted by this to file a breach of trust report with the Williamsburg County Sheriff’s Office so they can handle any potential criminal charges against Woodbridge.
