As the Dallas Wings figure out how to move ahead with plans for a new training facility in West Oak Cliff, the WNBA team’s leaders hope they can sell naming rights — and pledge to give the city a significant cut of the revenue.

City documents state the WNBA franchise has agreed to give the city 70% of any proceeds from a naming rights deal, with the team keeping the remaining 30%. Any funds directed toward the Park and Recreation Department would go toward the development of Joey Georgusis Park, where the practice facility is planned.

City documents also state the facility will include a community wing that is accessible to the public during scheduled hours with meeting rooms, two soccer fields adjacent to the building and a Chalk Hill Trail connection within the park.

Wings President and CEO Greg Bibb told Dallas Business Journal last week he wants the team to take over development of the practice facility because of delays. He also said the the team expects to play home games at the American Airlines Center during the 2027 season.
