A frightening discovery during a routine drive led one Florida woman straight to a fire station for help when she realized a python had made its way inside her car.

The Coral Springs Fire Department later shared video of the unusual rescue on Instagram, describing the encounter as a “slithery situation” that reminded crews just how unpredictable their job can be.

According to the department, the driver pulled into Station 43 after noticing the snake had slithered into the dashboard area of her vehicle. Firefighters quickly got to work, carefully assessing the situation before attempting to remove the reptile.

“When they say you never know what this job may bring, it’s true,” the department wrote in its caption, praising the crew’s teamwork during the unexpected call. The post showed responders leaning into the vehicle and working methodically to locate and safely extract the python.

Once the snake was removed, the driver shared her gratitude in the comments. “Can’t say enough how much we appreciated the help! Richie was very happy to be rescued!” she wrote, suggesting the reptile had a name and was safely recovered from the ordeal.
