Pippen and Aldama join a growing list of Grizzlies players already out for the rest of the 2025-26 season

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Memphis Grizzlies’ front office announced Tuesday, March 17, that two more players will be out for the remainder of the 2025-26 NBA season.

Guard Scotty Pippen Jr. and forward Santi Aldama have both undergone season-ending surgery, according to statements from Grizzlies officials.

Pippen Jr. on Tuesday underwent a successful sesamoidectomy to “address comfort in his right big toe,” the statement said. He is expected to make a full recovery in time for the start of the 2026-27 season.

In his third season out of Vanderbilt, Pippen Jr. averaged 11.4 points and 4.7 assists during the 2025-26 season.

Aldama on Tuesday completed a successful arthroscopic procedure and received an orthobiologic injection to “address discomfort in the trochlear compartment of his right knee,” Grizzlies officials said. He is expected to be healthy in time for the start of the 2026-27 season.

It was announced earlier this season that center Zach Edey and guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope had both undergone season ending surgery.

Guard Ja Morant and forward Brandon Clarke both remain on the Grizzlies’ list of injuried players after already missing significant time this season.
